Log Your Flights

Cross Country Magazine approached me to write a 1,700-word how-to article on the importance of keeping a record of flights.

I spoke to a range of sources such as Timothée Manaud (the founder of tracking device company Stodeus), competitive pilot Joanna Di Grigoli, and SIV coach and Red Bull X-Alps athlete Heli Schrempf. I also drew upon sources such as Jean Marc Galan's writings for the French safety authority (FFVL).

I chose to include excerpts from my own logbook, which gave the piece a narrative arc around progress and made it more relatable.

The piece was published in print and online, along with a sidebar I included.
